First of all, I am a wife to my wonderful husband of almost 14 years--we celebrate our anniversary in the summer, Joe (aka Safari --love ya honey), a mother of two (Henry and Jaclyn), and I have a dog named Lacey. I don't really know how a farmers daughter from Eastern Washington ever ended up inside the covers of national wedding magazines, but I attribute most of it to a natural gift, you either have it or you don't, the stark fields of wheat that grew around us (always leading me to dream of fanciful far-away places) and all the inspiration my mother surrounded me with, from cross-stitch, dance classes, and singing together! I still remember harmonizing to the Beach Boys "in my room" and getting goosebumps when the harmonies just flew together! I was always the one making mud pies, and dreaming about the "ultimate" barbie house and how to decorate it, and what clothes my barbies and dolls should wear to do this or that. I loved to dance and sing and could care less about algebraic equations (although I know they are very useful to some). There is something to be said about a mother letting her kids be kids and grow up to be who they are going to be. My mom gave a lot of direction along the way, we were well attended to, and I know she still worries about me every waking hour. Oh, and dad does too:)
To sum it up, I have always been into making people feel comfortable, the one who looks at someone in a crowd who is less than excited to be where they are and wondering how to make them more welcome. I am a people watcher by nature, and having been the last of four kids, I learned a lot from my brother's and sisters' mistakes and fortunes, and it shaped me in a way to have all that knowledge set before me....
I am stubborn as heck and I love people to the fullest of my ability. I have a wonderfully bright and talented circle of girlfriends that keep me amused and challenged and we call ourselves the "Assets". We love harder, work harder, and make each other better women by just being friends. And our children are growing up together, which is also rewarding in its own right...
